I live in east Tennessee & for the past 15 minutes my wife & I have watched this red & gold ball just sit in the sky. We compared it to planes flying by it & other stars. It was in no way either of those. Suddenly it was gone. It seemed to have went farther east towards the Carolina's.. Please someone tell me you witnessed this also.

Very interesting, were you able to snap a picture of it or record any video from your phones? I've seen something similar to that description before, it was my first sighting. It was a large ball of fire hovering over the ground in a field... It had a golden shimmer to it.
